"Royall Ass Aisle": Our tribute to the social-justice warriors of Harvard Law

(NOTE: Disclaimer regarding this blog's non-affiliation with Harvard is here.)

2015-16 at Harvard Law School was the most entertaining year at any law school, ever. Entertaining like really bad sitcoms such as "Gilligan's Island" are entertaining (for a refresher, consult the "Royall Asses" blog and the many sources it cites).

Just in time for Above the Law's 9th Annual Law Revue Video Contest, here is our parody video tribute to the social-justice warriors who made the year so memorable, many of whom are graduating soon. We will never forget them.

The video was inspired by the "Gilligan's Island" theme song (watch it here), written by Sherwood Schwartz and George Wyle. (Fun fact: the stricken charter boat in the show was named after Dean Minow's father, former FCC chairman Newton Minow.)

Lyrics are below the video. Enjoy!

LYRICS

"Royall Ass Aisle"

Just sit right back
And you'll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful stunt
That started with this hateful crest
And tape it covered up

One Ass was Mawuse Vormawor
Al Clayborne, what a joke!
Four law students set up that day
A real inept hoax
A real inept hoax

The eve'ning started getting late
The gaffer tape came out
Because of the courage of this fearless crew
Dean Minow would be lost
Dean Minow would be lost

The tape went up; all Hell broke loose
In this majestic law school aisle

With Vormawor
Al Clayborne too
Klosterbore
And his bar
The early bird [Derecka Purnell]
And the rest
Here in Royall Ass Aisle

So this is the tale of the Royall Asses
They're here for a long long time
We'll have to make the best of things
It's an uphill climb

Vormawor and Al Clayborne too
Will do their very best
To make us all uncomfortable
About that Harvard Law School crest

No rest, no laughs, no harmony
No refuge for you and me
Like Saul David Alinsky
Intimidating as can be

So join us here each week my friends
You're sure to get a smile
From all the Royall Asses here
Here in Royall  Ass Aisle
